One thing I want to mention is that this photo of original painting does not capture
actual colors 100%...I wanted to make good contrast between beautiful orange sky
and greenish building colors...I would say captured only about 70%...

I realize that whenever I take picture from nature or from my painting, the photo
only captures one thing either light side or dark side...,

In this painting, original painting shows a lot more exciting colorful sky with bold
brush strokes and buildings and ground is not as dark as this...

I made beautiful contrast between dusty green colors and sky but not showing here
that means my whole creation is gone !
If anyone think that's my lack of photo skill and knowlege, please let me know....
but I never catched sky and ground effectively..never...especially when light source
coming from behind..

If you see my original painting, you realize that how effectively i was able to use
complementry colors between green and orange.

that's the story of this painting, Green and Orange.

Manhattan has many different colors but one other colors I want to mentions
is colors of loneliness. Manhattan is complex city with variety of interesting
matters, but when you turn around corner, you will see true colors of
Manhattan in which you walk and walk all you can find is loneliness...

I am one of the artist looking for solutions for all the problems I am
facing, I am looking for answers in my art career and happiness
along with it, and I am looking for ultimate satisfactions in life in general.

my conclusion is that if you searching for answers in your own painting,
and find good reason to paint, you are already successful person regardless
of how much media is accepting our art work.
Because success is in our mind not from other souces.

By the way, I was going to say lonliness has it's own colors and the
colors represent poetry of our daily life.

One of the reason I paint many city painting is that city has a lot of different light source.
I like lights coming from shop windows and there is traffic lights, automoville headlight,
and then there is reflection lights from our natural sunlight, and people walking down the
street, yellow taxies...all these physical elements from this city is good enough to give me
interesting subject matter.
All these physical element is very important for me to achieve something very positive
out of our ordinary daily life.
Trying to make a great painting from our daily life style could be my own will or determination.
I truely believe it's a matter of time to reach something really interesting art work.
You can see from our old masters like Edgar Payne or Edward Hopper or other masteres
how they were able to achieve great paintings from our nature or daily life.
I would like to follow their mental or spiritual attitude only, I am aware of everybody has
slightly different interest in terms of creative mind.

Anyway, this painting is 30x24 inches in dimentions, one the large size Manhattan painting
for me. I like brushstroke and my painting usually finishes with a lot of layers of brushstroke.
I constantly approaches to my idea with endless brushstroke.

If you walking around this town, you can feel it, this own has it's own colors,
maybe because this town has history of it,s own...and the colors are very unique
and special. I also heard there are quite a few great American Impressionists
who painted around here and they call them "Bucks County Impressionists"

There is a lot of antique shops and art Galleries here, you can just walk in freely
anytime of the season, you just feel very comfortable here, actually I made
quite a few sketches here, I can say this town is very charming.

As Sun goes down, this town was even more cozy and impressive enough that
I couldn't resist to paint the moment of sunset, but I still had to use colors that
I like, instead of try to copy nature.

Approaching Empire State Building

This painting is all about interpretation of colors and colors of my own thought.
I am one of the person who never believes in the concept of plein air.
I do believe we all can learn from colors of nature and the colors of the moment.
but, the fact is colors of nature is constantly changing, you can catch the
impressions but you will never catch the colors of nature itself.
My theory is that the color is in your mind, we should use colors of our mind, not try
too much to copy nature itself, because, as I mentioned, trying to copy nature colors as you see
might be meaningless, at least for me...because I do not see true colors from nature,

The reason why I have to follow my own color is that I have desire to make every scene
of our daily life into a beautiful poetry of colors.

I am just happy to see every moment I see has slightly different color stories and I am
enjoying creating new color stories in each paintings.

This painting is the first of many Autumn paintings coming in the future.
for this, use of warm background will be a key to be sucsseful outcome.

I 've always thinking about Autumn colors throughout my recent years, because
Fall colors are rich and inspiring  so it's something worth to pursue.

The reason why I anticipting many more to come is that this kind of subject
matter is not decided by one painting, something continuously to study
and get result from several studies.

Also, in this series, I should study effectiveness of abstraction as relations
upon colors and patterns coming with my experiences of Oil Painting.

All of this thing is to pursue just one thing from my mind-- Happiness

I have motivated by the colors of sunset in this old town, this is the town I started painting
profssionally and occasionally I travel here wandering around looking for subject matter.

usually, a lot of people walking through this town because this town has history of it's own
famous for endless gift shops and antique shops ..this town has very cozy kind attractions,
you can walk in any shops without feeling any pressure...very pleasant for tourist, and
there is small cozy Pizza shop we always stop by whenever we come here, people there
is very kind and Pizza itself is thin and crispy.

I've heard famous some American artist known as Bucks county Impressionists painted
around here, and I've seen their paintings as well, very very impressive and I admire them
a lot. Any way, whenever I come here I feel something old and classical and that's very
special feeling that I want to capture in this painting.

I understand that it's not quite easy to capture feelings like that, but I want to try it from time
to time because any great painting need a great deal of effort and I want achieve something
new possibilities.

I know this painting is originated from my Manhattan painting series and it could belong
to cityscape painting category, too.
